Our Story

ROOTS opened its first Juice bar at Majestic City Complex, back in the
year 1997. We had a visionary idea of revolutionizing the beverage
service sector. During this period, only lime and orange juices were sold
in restaurants, apart from which small, unhygienic ‘cool spots’ also
served mixed fruit and wood apple variants.
Fizzy drinks were the market leaders during this time. We, Roots®
wanted to give people a healthier option and took the challenge of
introducing all kinds of rare local juices to the market. With consistent
quality over the years in addition to the global mindset shifting towards
healthy foods, Roots® expanded rapidly and has now become the
undisputed market leader in the fresh fruit sector, with 20 outlets
currently in operation around Colombo, Kandana & Kandy.
We operate with a centralized warehouse, where all our fruits and other
ingredients are distributed by our fleet of vehicles to our outlets. The
head office is located at Majestic City Colombo, where our management
team oversees all aspects of the company.
We overdeveloped supplier confidence over the years and have an
island-wide network of farmers who island-wide purchase our fruits four
times a day. This ensures the best quality and freshness of our fruits for
our customers
