Throughout the years, Roots has made its way to being a household name; widely known for its fresh juices. That being said, we simply had to try the variety of drinks Fresh Intentions had to offer! Apart from the usual, we decided to go with some of their recommended drinks.

Very Berry (large) – LKR 580The Very Berry consists of a mix of berries; blackberries, blueberries, wild berries, and strawberries. The drink had an interesting color of deep red, topped off with mint leaves and a strawberry for garnish, but as pleasing as it looked, it wasn’t exactly stellar in the taste department.

This could either be due to the blend of too many varieties of berries or that it was simply bland, but we couldn’t exactly put a finger on what it tasted like. However it was fresh, light and refreshing but rather mediocre in flavor.

 

Tropical Rush – LKR 400
Roots delivers drinks that are aesthetically pleasing to the eye, however compared to the previous drink, this had WAY too much flavour. This drink was slightly thick in consistency with black passion fruit seeds and a side of pineapple. We were told that it consists of passion fruit, pineapple, and mango; which we thought would taste perfect if executed well.

However to our dismay, the sour aspect of the drink overpowered the sweetness from the mango. Not a bad drink if you like sour drinks, but a large cup of this will have you cringing half way through.
